Scarecrow Stroll and Beggars Night
2012 SCARECROW STROLL & BEGGARS NIGHT MAP

The Hinesville Downtown Partners is now accepting participation forms for its fourth annual Scarecrow Stroll and Beggars night scheduled for October 26 from 4-6pm in Downtown Hinesville.
The free family-friendly event allows kids to fill treat bags with goodies from a variety of local downtown businesses. Merchants, nonprofit groups, restaurants, and other businesses are invited to participate. Businesses that do not have a Downtown store front can choose to setup in Bradwell Park. Participants can also decorate a booth and provide activities that must be approved by event committee.
Participants should expect several thousands to participate. The 2011 event had an estimated attendance of 10,000. Festivities will take place in Bradwell Park and extend throughout downtown. Event maps will be available on-line at www.hinesvilledowntown.com, by email request, or can be picked up from downtown merchants beginning Thursday, Oct 25 while supplies last.
Scarecrow Stroll and Beggars night is in its fourth year and occurs the Friday before Halloween. The event was created by the Hinesville Downtown Partners to provide residents and visitors with a fun, family-oriented Halloween activity. “In a Downtown Partners meetings one of our long-term merchants talked about how children used to come to downtown businesses to trick-or-treat and how the businesses looked forward to it each year. That conversation evolved into event planning for our first Scarecrow Stroll & Beggars Night which has become one of the largest events we hold downtown,” stated Vicki Davis, HDDA Executive Director.
